When do Presidents Day sales start and end?

Presidents Day always falls on the third Monday in February. For 2026, that means the holiday lands on Feb. 16. Each year, the competition among retailers and brands gets more intense. It’s great for us as shoppers, but it also means sales start earlier, as each storefront looks to get a leg up on the competition.

This marks the first major sales event of the year. It might not rouse the same fanfare as events like Black Friday, but we’ll still be seeing deals on just about everything. That includes big-name storefronts like Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart, as well as retailers like Apple, Lululemon, Sephora and more.

These sales are setting the pace for the rest of the year. Many of the offers are the first chances to save in 2026, or they’re at least the best price cuts of the year. Pair that with the wide range of deals, and this is your chance to save on just about anything you’ll need for your kitchen, bedroom, home office or television setup.

No holiday passes by that we can’t find a deal for. Still, being transparent with our readers on what to buy and what not to buy is always a top priority for us, and our deals team — consisting of senior editor Rikka Altland, editor Jacqueline Saguin and associate editor Elena Matarazzo — regularly tracks product price history and updates our content to reflect the latest and best deals. This piece, for example, will be continually updated throughout Presidents Day.
