Sun TV Network Limited, on Monday (August 11, 2025), said the legal notice issued against its promoter Kalanithi Maran has been unconditionally and irrevocably withdrawn by a family member (younger brother, DMK MP and former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran) and the issues have been resolved.
In June, Dayanidhi Maran had sent a legal notice to Kalanithi Maran, chairman of Sun TV Network, his wife Kavery Kalanithi and six others raising dispute in share transactions which took place in 2003, reflecting a family dispute between the brothers. In response, Sun TV had denied the allegations made in the notice.
Last month, The Hindu had reported that truce has been called to settle the ongoing feud between the brothers and a mediation between the Maran brothers took place recently in the presence of key members of the DMK family, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
“We reiterate that the issue of the legal notices and the withdrawal of such legal notices do not pertain to the business or management of the Company or its day to day functioning and being the family matter of the Promoter are purely personal in nature,” Sun TV said in a stock exchange announcement.
Sun TV did not disclose the details of how the issues were resolved.
