The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Friday (August 29, 2025) paid ₹7,324.34 crore dividend to the Centre.
CEO and MD R. Doraiswamy presented the cheque to Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as the government of India’s share of the dividend approved by the shareholders at the annual general meeting held on August 26, LIC said.
Secretary to the Department of Financial Services Nagaraju M, Joint Secretary Parshant Kumar Goyal and LIC managing directors Sat Pal Bhanoo, Dinesh Pant and Ratnakar Patnaik as well as ZM (incharge) of Northern Zone J.P.S. Bajaj were present.
LIC is completing 69 years and remains the market leader in the country. Its asset base stood at ₹56.23 lakh crore as at March 31, 2025, the State-owned life insurer said in a release.
