TV’s biggest night has arrived. We’ve compiled everything you need to know about where to watch the Emmys, including live streaming options for those without cable.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards occur one week after last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, where The Studio, The Penguin, and Severance won big. Similar shows top the charts for the primetime program, with The White Lotus, The Last of Us, Hacks, Andor, and The Pitt also receiving a notable number of nominations. The ceremony will be hosted by stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze and take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

If you don’t want to read further, the cheapest way to live stream the Emmy Awards in the US is through a Paramount Plus Premium subscription. We’ll break down everything you need to know about the app below and outline a few other streaming options.

What channel are the Emmys on?

The Emmys air on CBS in the US. The awards ceremony will kick off on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. ET Red Carpet coverage begins at 7 p.m. on CBS.

Where to watch the Emmys in the US

Paramount Plus is the cheapest way for cord-cutters to live stream the ceremony in the US. You’ll need to select the Premium tier to access live streams of your local CBS station. This tier also unlocks ad-free on-demand streaming and the full selection of Showtime programming. Premium subscriptions cost $13 a month and come with a seven-day free trial for new customers. There’s also currently a limited-time 50% off deal on annual plans.

Paramount Plus Premium (Monthly Plan)

Paramount Plus offers a huge library of on-demand content from Paramount, CBS, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, and MTV. The Premium Plan also includes Showtime and live CBS streaming. It costs $12.99 a month or $120 a year. More importantly, it removes ads from the on-demand streaming library.

If you’d rather live stream CBS through a service that carries other popular channels, DirecTV or Fubo can do the trick. DirecTV’s Entertainment plan ($85 a month, five-day free trial) offers broad CBS coverage and 90+ other live channels. Fubo’s Pro plan ($85 a month, 5-day free trial) also boasts broad CBS coverage and more than 200 other live channels. Both services recently introduced smaller and cheaper news-friendly packages that carry CBS. However, there’s some regional variability, so you should see what’s available to you before you sign up for anything.

DirecTV’s base Signature package, the Entertainment plan, carries 90+ live channels, including local networks and popular cable options like ESPN, CNN, and MTV.

Fubo is the streaming service for sports fans. Its huge library of channels includes regional and international sports leagues, setting it apart from the competition. You can also tack on additional programming to your plan, but it’ll cost you extra.

How to watch the Emmys from anywhere

Those who are traveling away from home can still keep up with their usual viewing methods with the help of a VPN. Short for virtual private networks, VPNs are handy tech tools that let people change their virtual locations. This way, they can use the websites and apps they pay for from anywhere in the world. The services we’ve highlighted tonight require US methods of payment, so this option will work best for Americans who are simply traveling abroad at the moment.

If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to VPNs, NordVPN is our top recommendation. It’s user-friendly, even for beginners, and has a suite of cybersecurity perks. It also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can learn more in our NordVPN review.

A wide selection of international servers, high-end security, fast connections, and audited privacy protection have made the brand a household name in the world of VPNs.

Note: The use of VPNs is illegal in certain countries and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content might constitute a breach of the terms of use for certain services. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
