Nifty 50 seems to be getting some breather after witnessing a sharp fall last week. The index is attempting to bounce back in the early trades today. It is currently trading at 24,741, up 0.35 per cent. The advances/declines ratio is at 40:10. This is very positive. This trend has to sustain in order to take the Nifty further higher and ease the downside pressure. For now, we will have wait and see whether this is just a corrective bounce or a trend reversal.
Nifty 50 Outlook
The Nifty has series of resistances at 24,800, 24,830 and 24,870. A decisive rise above 24,870 is needed to indicate that the fall has ended. Only then the outlook will turn bullish for a rise to 24,950 and 25,000 again.
Failure to breach the above-mentioned resistances and a downward reversal again can drag the Nifty down to 24,650-24,600 again.
Nifty will come under more selling pressure again if it declines below 24,600. If that happens, then a steeper fall to 24,400 and even lower levels can be seen this week.
Nifty 50 Futures
The Nifty 50 September Futures (24,811) is up 0.48 per cent. Intraday support is in the 24,780-24,760. If the contract manages to sustain above this support zone during the day, then that will be positive. In that case, there are good chances for the Nifty 50 September Futures contract to see a rise to 24,960 and 25,020 in the coming sessions.
Nifty has to decline below 24,760 to turn the intraday picture negative for a fall to 24,700-24,670 and even lower.
For now, it looks like the Nifty 50 September Futures contract can sustain above 24,760 and rise more during the day.
Trade Strategy
Traders can go long now at 24,811. Accumulate on dips at 24,790. Keep the stop-loss at 24,740. Trail the stop-loss up to 24,830 as soon as the contract goes up to 24,860. Move the stop-loss further up to 24,870 and 24,890 when the contract touches 24,885 and 24,905. Exit the longs at 24,920.
