A book on puberphonia, authored by M.S. Kumaresan, ENT surgeon and Director of Siva ENT Head and Neck Hospital, was released on Tuesday, highlighting clinical approaches and long-term outcomes in the management of the voice disorder.
The book was released by K. Sridharan, Chancellor, Kalasalingam University, and received by A.K. Jayanthy, Head, Department of Medical Engineering (AIDA), Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai.
Speaking at the function, Dr. Kumaresan said that 1,650 cases of puberphonia have been treated successfully so far.
Collaboration plans
He added that plans are under way to collaborate with Kalasalingam University and Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research.
Students Aakarshana R., Srimitha R., Ritvik L., and Mohammad Rayyan Sheriff delivered a presentation on artificial intelligence–based voice assessment and therapy for puberphonia.
K. Jeevith Isveriya, a paediatrician based in the U.S., and K. Navin Bharath, ENT surgeon, Saveetha Medical College, spoke on the medical and psychosocial importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Kumaresan also sought the support of the State and Central governments to scale up the initiative.
