Ben Mendelsohn returned as caped Star Wars villain Orson Krennic for the second season of the acclaimed series Andor. While he was happy to return to the role he originally played in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, he did have one request for series creator Tony Gilroy. He discussed the change he wanted last week on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Sitting down with host Seth Meyers, Mendelsohn talked about the character’s return in Andor: “Krennic’s a fantastic character, but he’s a middle manager in Rogue One, you know. He’s a guy building a Death Star. So I did make one request, which was ‘Let’s pump up the volume a little bit.'” He was certainly pleased with the result: “The show is fantastic. I think it exceeds all expectations, and I think we pumped up the volume.” Meyers agreed, suggesting that “your career has grown, you’re not playing middle management anymore.
