The company said Pin Oak is a 460 MW, state-of-the-art natural gas facility built to supply reliable and dispatchable power to the ERCOT grid. It is designed to operate during periods of high power demand and can also run for longer periods if system conditions demand it. According to the company, Pin Oak Creek is expected to strengthen grid reliability and support economic growth in the state.
Earlier, on April 16, Constellation Energy Corporation (NASDAQ:CEG) also announced the commissioning of the 105 MW Pastoria Solar Project. The company said it is the largest renewable energy project contracted by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) so far as part of its plan to fully decarbonize operations by 2035.
