Cathie Wood sends strong prediction on Bitcoin despite massive outflows

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood is a veteran investor in the crypto industry whose views are closely followed by traders and analysts.

She was among the first investors to gain Bitcoin (BTC) exposure, with ARK being the first public asset manager to gain BTC exposure in 2015.

Back then, Bitcoin wasn’t even worth $500, and the move was met with sharp criticism. However, the cryptocurrency hit the record high price of $126,080 on Oct. 6, 2025. Though it has fallen 40% from the record high, it is still trading above $77,000.

Wood’s ARK revises Bitcoin targets

In April 2025, ARK Invest predicted that by 2030, Bitcoin will hit $1.5 million in a bullish case, $710,000 in a base case, and $300,000 in a bearish case.

Following the flash crash in October 2025, the investment firm revised its target the next month. ARK’s projections in November 2025 put Bitcoin’s price at $1.2 million in its bull case, $600,000 in its base case, and $500,000 in its bear case by 2030.

Wood argued her firm decided to trim its Bitcoin price targets to price in the explosive growth of stablecoins like Tether’s USDT and Circle’s USDC. However, she affirmed her faith in Bitcoin, citing institutional interest, regulatory clarity, and its scarcity-driven model as its main advantages.

Wood doubles down on bullish Bitcoin target despite outflows

On May 25, Wood sat down for an interview with Fox Business in which she doubled down on her last Bitcoin price prediction.

  • In a bullish case, Bitcoin could hit $1.25 million in the next five years.

  • In a bearish case, Bitcoin could reach $750,000 in the next five years.

Wood went on to argue that Bitcoin is an “insurance policy” against currency debasement and said her bullish prediction is based on the cryptocurrency’s institutional adoption.

She also hailed the progress on two crypto bills in the United States, GENIUS and CLARITY Acts, saying that they provide regulatory clarity to the crypto market and boost demand for USD-pegged stablecoins, thereby cementing the dominance of the U.S. dollar.

Wood’s bullish Bitcoin prediction comes amidst a sharp sell-off in the U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) over the last few days.

As per SoSoValue, Bitcoin ETFs have seen a net outflow of $1.54 billion since May 15. The past few days have been nearly as bad as late January for the Bitcoin ETFs.
