Orion Group secures $100m in new orders across marine and concrete divisions

Speciality contractor Orion Group Holdings has been awarded a series of contracts, with a combined value of around $100m, across its marine and concrete segments.

The company’s marine division has recently secured $67m in new contracts, including a significant project for Weyerhaeuser Company. This entails the replacement of the Longview Export Dock, a 12-month project set to commence in the third quarter of 2025.

In addition, Orion Marine has been awarded two projects by the Port of Tampa Bay. The first is a three-year maintenance dredging contract, with work expected to start in September 2025.

The second is the Port Redwing Berth 301 Wharf project, which is of particular importance due to the rapid population growth in the Tampa Bay area and the consequent rise in demand for construction and bulk materials.

Orion Concrete has also won new contracts totalling $33m.

These include a data centre project in Iowa, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Complex in Houston as a subcontractor for Durotech, and the foundation of a cold storage facility for US Foods.

These projects are slated to begin in the third quarter of 2025 and are expected to last one year.

Furthermore, Orion was recently contracted by the City of Ingleside wastewater treatment plant as a subcontractor to Associated Construction Partners, with the project due to start this December and last for 12 months.

Orion Group Holdings CEO Travis Boone said: “We are proud to be recognised with new contract awards that reflect the trust our partners place in us. These achievements are a testament to the strength of our team, our commitment to the highest safety standards, and the progress we are making in expanding our business development pipeline.”

“Our strong delivery and consistent execution have enabled us to successfully expand our client relationships, and Port Tampa Bay is a good example. For many years, we have been their longstanding partner for maintenance dredging and new construction projects. We are pleased to play a role in their expansion initiatives aimed at enhancing the port’s capacity and efficiency.”

Boone added: “In our concrete business, we continue to see strong demand, supported by the next phase of a large data centre project and several projects in our home state.”

In June 2024, Orion Group Holdings secured additional concrete and marine building contracts across Florida and Texas, underscoring the company’s expanding footprint in the US construction sector.

“Orion Group secures $100m in new orders across marine and concrete divisions ” was originally created and published by World Construction Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
