HaysMac, a London, UK-based chartered accountants and tax advisory practice, has bought a specialist US tax team from Moore DM.
As part of the transaction, a group of US tax specialists has moved from Moore DM to HaysMac, including Chris Baker, who joins as director.
The team focuses on US tax compliance for US nationals and high-net-worth individuals living in the UK.
The acquisition will enable HaysMac to handle US tax returns from its London office, adding a US-focused service alongside its existing UK tax work.
Baker said: “Joining HaysMac presents an exciting opportunity to build a specialist US tax service within a firm renowned for its private wealth expertise.
“Demand is growing among US and internationally connected individuals living in the UK who need trusted, UK-based support for their US tax obligations.”
The move aligns with HaysMac’s longer-term plan to build a more global practice, deepen its presence in the private wealth market and broaden support for clients with cross-border assets and interests.
HaysMac private client head Graeme Privett added: “Welcoming Chris and the team enhances our ability to support new and existing clients, reinforcing HaysMac’s position as a trusted partner for international private wealth clients with US tax requirements.
“Having previously worked with Chris earlier in our careers, I am delighted to be collaborating again as we continue to develop our US tax offering and support the global ambitions of our private clients.”
Earlier this month, HaysMac rehired Andrew Roberts as audit director in its Social Purpose team.
“Accountancy practice HaysMac acquires Moore DM US tax unit” was originally created and published by International Accounting Bulletin, a GlobalData owned brand.
