AEW is soaking up the sun for the Beach Break special episode of Collision from NOW Arena in Chicago, IL. The Saturday night (May 17, 2025) lineup features Will Hobbs looking to rip Wheeler Yuta apart in the build to Anarchy in the Arena, Anna Jay putting hands on Megan Bayne, a Chicago street fight, a #1 contender match for the tag titles, a tribute to Steve McMichael, and more!

Collision kicks off Saturday at 8 pm ET on TNT. The show also simulcasts on HBO Max.

Beach Break was filmed earlier in the week on Wednesday, so spoilers are available here.

    Collision

Megan Bayne defeated Anna Jay. Anna didn’t back down from the Megasus, but Bayne was too powerful in the end. Anna bowed down on the F5 from Bayne.

Nigel McGuinness had time to think. If he doesn’t get in the ring with FTR, then this won’t end. Nigel will tag with Daniel Garcia at Double or Nothing.

Kyle Fletcher defeated AR Fox. Cool match. Fletcher turned up the heat to win via brainbuster.

Bandido, Brody King, & Tomohiro Ishii defeated Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero, & Lance Archer. The match split off into RPG Vice against Ishii, meat fight for Archer versus King, and Bandido was there too. Bandido actually sparked the winning rally. King sandwiched Romero for the win on a cannonball in the corner. Afterward, the Callis Family attacked the winners. The Outrunners made the save and cleared the ring.

Grizzled Young Veterans called Paragon soft and challenged them to a match next week. Adam Cole got in GYV’s head by saying that the pressure wasn’t on Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong to win. The pressure was on GYV.

”Speedball” Mike Bailey defeated Blake Christian. Bailey took the best Christian could dish out. Speedball seized victory on an avalanche rana followed by a cyclone kick. After the match, Speedball called out Okada for a shot at the AEW Continental Championship. Okada seemed to accept. Dralistico attacked Bailey from behind. Rush and Okada made faces at each other. I think the implication was that Rush wanted a multi-man match for Okada’s belt. Rush stood tall after a headbutt to Bailey.

For Jon Moxley, anarchy is an improvement over fake people in AEW. The Death Riders are professionals. They paint in violence. Gabe Kidd works for Mox. Kidd warned to abandon all hope.

Big Bill & Bryan Keith defeated Gates of Agony in Chicago street fight. Badass match. Hard-hitting from all four. Bill turned the tide with a big boot to Toa Liona off the apron crashing through tables. The Learning Tree double-teamed Bishop Kaun, who laughed off the pain. A chokeslam from Bill earned the win.

Mina Shirakawa is coming for Toni Storm’s world title. Toni is Timeless, but Mina is now.

Tribute to Steve McMichael. Ric Flair said that McMichael was more man than anyone he’s known in life. God bless Mongo in heaven.

I guess the show is over? TNT started playing a comic book movie without airing the final 30 minutes of Collision.

    AEW posted an update.

Due to technical difficulties, #AEWCollision Beach Break East Coast airing was cut short. West Coast airing will be unaffected.
We will have an On-Demand version available on @Sportsonmax and the TNT app as soon as possible

Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara defeated Lio Rush & Action Andretti. Contender match for shot at AEW tag titles. Dustin took out Lio on a Texas Destroyer. Sammy and Andretti went back and forth, then Sammy hit the GTH to win. Lio couldn’t make the save in time.

Willow Nightingale argued with Kris Statlander. She didn’t believe Stat was unaware of Marina Shafir’s attack, which caused Willow to lose. Lots of bickering between former friends.

Will Hobbs defeated Wheeler Yuta. Main event. Hobbs rallied with meat hooks. Yuta clipped the knee to take down Hobbs. The Death Rider charged forward for a Busaiku Knee, but Hobbs caught him for a spinebuster to win. After the match, Marina Shafir chop blocked Hobbs in the knee. Willow ran out for a spinebuster to Marina. Yuta grabbed Willow by the hair. Slap! She set up a gutwrench powerbomb, but Marina saved the lad. Statlander was seen in the shadows of the entrance tunnel.
