Apple Explores AI Glasses and Wearables: Report

Apple Inc. (AAPL, Financials) is expanding its artificial intelligence ambitions with a trio of new and updated devices, according to a Bloomberg report.

AI powered smart glasses featuring a high resolution camera, speakers, and microphone are being developed by the business. The glasses will have a processor, but an iPhone will provide most of the computer power. Apple is apparently prioritizing camera performance and industrial design and will make its own frames instead of partnering with eyewear makers, unlike Meta Platforms and Alphabet Inc.

Apple is also developing a camera-and-micrphone necklace or clip. The AirTag-sized gadget would extend the iPhone’s sensors constantly. AI enhanced AirPods may come this year.

Investors have questioned whether Apple has advanced aggressively enough in AI compared to others. Apple’s 2.5 billion iOS devices and 1.5 billion iPhones might change its AI monetization approach in 2026, according to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives.

The story sent Apple shares up over 3% in afternoon trade. Official product announcements and how Apple expects to turn new AI hardware into recurring services income and ecosystem development will interest investors.
