Best bets for Friday, Feb. 20

The Timberwolves were one of the hottest teams in the NBA to end the first half as they won seven of 10 heading into the All-Star Break. Things are very different in Dallas, however as the Mavericks are losers of nine in a row and may be without rookie star Cooper Flagg as he’s dealing with a foot injury that caused him to miss the team’s final game of the first half as well as the Rising Stars Challenge over the weekend. Minnesota made the Western Conference Finals a year ago and is looking to make noise in a crowded and top-heavy conference this season. The Lakers are fifth in the East at 33-21 and winners of six of their last 10 while the Clippers have used some hot play of late to get to 27-28 and ninth in the Western Conference, putting themselves firmly in the Play-In Tournament conversation as they enter the second half of the season.
