Big Tech earnings, Fed meeting, Trump & Xi meet: What to Watch

It’s time now for what to watch. The government shutdown is entering its fifth week, but a number of big economic events are still taking place including tech earnings, the Fed’s FOMC meeting and President Trump’s summit with President Xi.

Starting off on the earnings front, too many names to mention that are reporting, but everyone is going to be focused on Big Tech.

Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta on Wednesday. Then you got Apple and Amazon on Thursday.

So let’s get into it. Wednesday will be led by Microsoft, announcing first quarter results after the closing bell on Wednesday.

analysts expecting the company to say it’s spending even more money to build out its AI and cloud infrastructure.

Moving over to Thursday, Apple and Amazon are also reporting after the market’s close. Apple’s reporting fourth quarter earnings.

And taking a look over at the Federal Reserve, the Fed kicking off its two-day FOMC meeting on Tuesday, the interest rate decision coming out on Wednesday with Fed Chair Powell giving a press conference shortly after the decision.

And finally, President Trump is meeting with his Chinese counterpart counterpart, Xi Jinping in South Korea.
