To mark International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, CAN-STOP (Cancer Support Therapy to Overcome Pain), in association with Rotary District 3234, organised its 16th annual breast cancer awareness walkathon titled ‘One Walk One Hope’ at Island Grounds, Chennai, on Sunday. The event was flagged off by Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ma. Subramanian. Actor Sanchita Shetty was the special invitee. The guests of honour included Vinod Saraogi, District Governor, RID 3234, and other rotary members J.B. Kamdar, J. Sridhar, N.S. Saravanan, Suresh D. Jain, and Vijaya Bharathi Rangarajan, founder of CAN-STOP and Trustee & Director, SMF. The initiative sought to spread awareness on prevention, early detection, and the importance of regular self-examination for breast cancer. Information and screening stalls, free health check-ups were organised.
