Coalition Appoints Ilsa Derfus as Director of Capacity

Coalition (San Francisco) has appointed Ilsa Derfus as Director of Capacity. In this role, Derfus is responsible for managing the company’s relationships with carrier partners and serves as the primary point of contact for all capacity-related matters.

Derfus previously worked at McGill & Partners, where she supported Coalition and other clients in a reinsurance brokerage capacity. Her responsibilities included building capacity for new products and programs and optimizing reinsurance and insurance capacity structures. She also held prior roles at Aon and Guy Carpenter.

“Ilsa has already had a major impact on Coalition in her work at McGill & Partners, and we look forward to seeing the impact she will have in this new role at Coalition,” says Nick Aeppel, Coalition’s Head of Special Projects. “We expect that Ilsa’s addition will allow Coalition to move more nimbly with carriers, deepen our carrier relationships, and accelerate the pace at which we build capacity for new products and programs.”
