Maggie and Negan’s story continues in the second season of The Walking Dead spinoff. We’ve compiled everything you need to know about where to watch The Walking Dead: Dead City, including a free live streaming option.

The Walking Dead: Dead City takes Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to Manhattan in an attempt to rescue a kidnapped Hershel. Now, the quest for control of the island is on. The show is one of the many spinoffs of the original The Walking Dead, joining The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon to continue the story for some of the most beloved (and reviled) characters from the original series. Dead City first premiered in June 2023 and was quickly renewed for another season, but it’s been almost two years since it was last on air, so it’s been a long time coming for devoted TWD fans.

The premiere is just around the corner, so it’s a good time to ensure you know how to watch. We’ll show you all the ways you can tune in, including how to watch from anywhere via VPN.

Where to watch The Walking Dead: Dead City in the US

New episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City will air on AMC on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET. Cord-cutters have a few options for live streaming the show in the US. You can always tune in directly through the AMC Plus app or watch the AMC network through a live TV streaming service such as Philo, Sling TV, DirecTV, or Fubo.

Philo is the cheapest way to live stream the AMC network in the US. Subscriptions start at $28/month and come with a seven-day free trial. There’s just one Philo plan, and it unlocks 70+ entertainment and lifestyle channels, including Lifetime, TLC, the Hallmark Channel, and the Paramount Network.

    Philo

    Philo TV

If you want your streaming service to cost less per month than a single trip for the family to Starbucks, Philo is made with you in mind. It features over 70 channels for just $28 a month, but it is missing popular sports and local networks.

Sling TV is another popular streaming service with AMC. The network is available in both the Sling Orange and Blue plans, so it’s up to you to decide what’s right for you (our Sling Orange vs. Blue guide can help you out). Subscriptions start at $46/month, but new users can get 50% off their first month of service. Sling comes with anywhere from 35 to 40+ live channels, depending on your chosen plan.

    Sling TV Subscription

For just the essentials without any extra fluff, Sling TV is the streaming service you’re looking for. It’s more customizable than other plans, with three options you can choose from, so you pay for only what you need. New members often get a chunky discount on their first month.

If you’re looking for a more expansive live TV streaming package, we recommend trying DirecTV or Fubo. The streaming services, which both start at $85/month, offer many popular cable channels, sports, and local networks. DirecTV comes with a five-day free trial, while Fubo includes a seven-day free trial.

Previously known as AT&T TV, DirecTV offers streaming access to a large selection of live channels, including most key networks typically found in traditional cable packages.

    Fubo Pro

Fubo is the streaming service for sports fans. Its huge library of channels includes regional and international sports leagues, setting it apart from the competition. You can also tack on additional programming to your plan, but it’ll cost you extra.

Where to watch The Walking Dead: Dead City in the UK

Sky Max will once again have the UK broadcast rights for The Walking Dead: Dead City. You can stream the channel through a Sky subscription, which varies in price depending on your plan and contract length. You can also live stream it through a Now TV Entertainment subscription, which starts at £10/month with a flexible plan. However, it’s important to note that the new season won’t become available until the summer in the UK. We expect to see it in June, but we’ll keep this page updated once there’s a concrete date.

Where to watch The Walking Dead: Dead City in New Zealand

The Walking Dead: Dead City will stream on TVNZ+ in New Zealand. Season 1 is available to stream in full, and new Season 2 episodes are slated to arrive on Mondays at 2 p.m., right around the same time that they air in the US. This is a free streaming option, and users just need to create an account to get started.

How to watch The Walking Dead: Dead City from anywhere for free

If you’re away from New Zealand right now, you can still access the free option by using a VPN, or virtual private network. These handy cybersecurity tools allow you to alter your electronic device’s virtual location, so that you can keep up with your go-to websites and apps from almost anywhere in the world. VPNs are popular among those hoping to use their usual services while traveling abroad or upgrade their online security, making them must-have apps.

ExpressVPN is one of the best services out there, and a great place to start if you’re new to VPNs. It’s a beginner-friendly app with an impressive selection of servers and security features. Plus, it comes with a hassle-free 30-day money-back guarantee if you find that it’s not what you’re looking for. Our ExpressVPN review has the full details, and you can keep reading to learn how to use a VPN.

    • Install it on the device you’re using to watch.
    • Turn it on and set it to a New Zealand location.
