Do Wall Street Analysts Like Loews Stock?

Valued at a market cap of $19.8 billion, Loews Corporation (L) is a diversified holding company with subsidiaries in commercial property and casualty insurance, natural gas transportation and storage, offshore drilling, and hospitality. Headquartered in New York, it operates globally across insurance, energy, and hotel markets.

Shares of the commercial property and casualty insurance company have outperformed the broader market over the past 52 weeks. L stock has risen 18.5% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied 14.7%. On a YTD basis, shares of the company are up 12.6%, compared to SPX’s 9.5% gain.

However, Loews stock has slightly lagged behind the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLF) 19.2% return over the past 52 weeks.

Shares of Loews rose 2.8% on Aug. 4 after reporting Q2 2025 net income of $1.87 per share, up from $1.67 per share a year earlier, and revenue growth to $4.6 billion. Investors reacted positively to improving insurance results at CNA, where catastrophe losses dropped to $62 million and solid earnings growth at Boardwalk Pipelines.

The mean price target of $217, which is also the Street-high, represents a 127.8% premium to L’s current price levels.
