Here’s what we know about the Seahawks Championship Ceremony and Parade in Seattle

Seattle celebrates the Seahawks’ Super Bowl victory with a parade on February 11. Fans can stream exclusive live coverage of the ceremony and parade on KING 5 apps.

SEATTLE — City officials expect between three-quarters of a million to a million fans to celebrate the Seahawks Super Bowl win by attending a ceremony and parade on Wednesday, Feb. 11 in downtown Seattle.

KING 5 is the official broadcast partner for the Seahawks Championship Ceremony and Parade, with coverage starting at 9 a.m. following KING 5 Morning News.

You can watch the entire celebration inside Lumen Field, including the presentation of the Lombardi Trophy, exclusively on the KING 5 streaming apps for your TV and phone, the KING 5 website and on KONG TV.

What time is the parade?

The ceremony at Lumen Field is open to the public, but does require tickets. Tickets for the event went on sale Monday morning but sold out in less than 20 minutes.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. PT, but the gates will open at 8:30 a.m. Some limited concessions will be available for purchase and the stadium’s clear bag policy will be in effect.

The parade is then slated to kick off at 11 a.m. from just north of the stadium.

KING 5 is the only station bringing you that event live, from the trophy presentation to speeches by the biggest players. Then, you can follow along for the victory parade. KING 5 will have unique access, riding alongside the team on the route.

What is the parade forecast?

Seattle weather on Wednesday is looking nice for February. Morning fog is expected, but then it will clear and be partially sunny with temperatures reaching a high of 50 degrees. Overall it should be a dry day; no rain is expected.

That’s almost 20 degrees warmer than the last Seahawks Super Bowl parade. In 2014, after the Seattle defeated the Denver Broncos, high temps just hit the 30s.

What is the parade route?

For those wishing to attend the parade in person, the route for the parade stretch for around 2 miles through downtown Seattle. Here’s the details:

  • It will begin at 4th Avenue S and S Washington Street
  • It will travel north through downtown 4th Avenue
  • It will end at 4th Avenue and Cedar Street

The parade is expected to last approximately 2 hours.

Traffic impacts expected

Those traveling to or through downtown Seattle on Wednesday should expect delays from the early morning into the early afternoon. Some buses downtown will operate on alternative routes due to the parade.

Attendees are encouraged to take public transit into Seattle.

Streets that intersect will be closed from Lumen Field to Seattle Center between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with congestion expected to spill over onto side streets.

On and off ramps for Interstate 5 and Interstate 90 are expected to close briefly at the start of the parade, but will open shortly afterwards.
