The City of London Police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department has led several operations targeting illegal ghost brokers, amid a 52% increase in the practice.

During the period, which ran from 19 to 30 May, officers carried out a series of operations which resulted in two arrests.

The two arrests are believed to be key players in an organised criminal
