MetaQuotes’ MT5 Update Lands Weeks After China Connectivity Woes

MetaQuotes will release an update to the MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
platform tomorrow (Friday). Accroding to the firm, it will introduce multiple
fixes and improvements for traders and developers.

The release follows a
recent disruption in China, where MetaTrader 4 and 5 servers experienced
prolonged connectivity issues. Reported in May 2025, the outage raised concerns
among brokers and traders operating in the region, as access to the platforms
was restricted for several days. However, the latest update does not directly
address infrastructure or access matters.

MetaEditor Gains GPT-4.1 Support Update

The new build,5120 addresses graphical issues on Linux and
macOS systems, improves the update mechanism for the MQL5 Standard Library, and
enhances MQL5 function compatibility with typecast arrays.

The update also expands MetaEditor’s support for GPT-4.1 and
o4-mini AI models and introduces more rigorous file status checks in MQL5
Storage. These refinements are expected to streamline platform usage for
algorithmic traders and coders.

MT5 Now Dominates MetaQuotes Trading

MT5 has recently surpassed MT4
in global trading volume for the first time, according to Q1 2025 data. The
platform now accounts for more than half of MetaQuotes’ combined trading
activity, signaling a shift in user preferences as development focus moves
toward MT5.

MetaTrader 5 Expands Payment Options with Kingdom Bank

Meanwhile, The Kingdom Bank, operating in over 80 countries
and supporting more than 30 currencies, has
joined the MetaTrader 5 Payments service as a new payment service provider.

This integration allows MetaTrader 5 users to deposit and
withdraw funds directly within the platform, streamlining the process without
needing to leave the terminal. The partnership aims to modernize onboarding and
simplify deposits, improving conversion rates and increasing both the volume
and number of transactions.

Brokers benefit from more efficient financial operations
without additional third-party costs. This addition builds on MetaTrader 5’s
expanding payment options, following a recent partnership with AstroPay, which
offers digital wallet services within the platform.
