Nifty Bank Prediction Today – February 19, 2026: Nifty Bank futures: Support can restrict bears

Nifty Bank index began today’s session higher at 61,661 compared to yesterday’s close of 61,551. It is now hovering around 61,300, down 0.4 per cent.

The advance-decline ratio is 3-11 now, showing a bearish bias. AU Small Finance Bank (up about 0.8 per cent) and IDFC First Bank (up 0.4 per cent) top the chart.

At the other end, IndusInd Bank (down 0.9 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (down 0.8 per cent) are the top losers.

Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Private Bank have lost 0.4 per cent each. Therefore, both public sector banks and the private banks are broadly facing similar selling pressure.

Nifty Bank futures

The February expiry Nifty Bank futures opened today’s session higher at 61,590 versus yesterday’s close of 61,500. It is now trading at 61,250, down 0.4 per cent.

The price action so far today shows a downward pressure in Nifty Bank futures. However, the fall might be limited as there is a support ahead at 61,100. Just below this is the base of 61,000. So, the region between 61,100 and 61,000 is a support band.

Since the overall trend is bullish, when the contract slips to the above-mentioned demand zone, it can witness a rebound. Once the rally resumes, Nifty Bank futures can rise to 61,750.

But if the base at 61,000 is breached, the contract can see more sellers coming in, potentially leading to a swift fall to 60,600 and then to 60,200.

That said, overall, Nifty Bank futures still maintains a positive inclination despite seeing sell-off in today’s early trade.

Trade strategy

Buy Nifty Bank futures (February) at 61,250 and 61,100. Place stop-loss at 60,900. When the contract rises to 61,500, revise the stop-loss to 61,350. Book profits at 61,750.

In case neither target nor stop-loss is triggered by today, traders can consider carrying over the trade for tomorrow.
