Nifty Prediction Today – February 19, 2026: Nifty futures: Decline likely to be arrested

Nifty 50 began today’s session with a gap-up at 25,873 versus yesterday’s close of 25,819. But it fell after opening and is now at 27,760, down 0.25 per cent.
The advance/decline ratio stands at 15/36, showing a bearish bias. TCS and ONGC, up about 1.5 per cent each, are the top gainers. On the other hand, InterGlobe Aviation, down 2 per cent, is the top loser followed by Kwality Wall’s (India), down 1.8 per cent.
Most of the sectoral indices are in the red. Nifty Realty, down 0.8 per cent, and Nifty Consumer durables, down 0.7 per cent, are the top losers so far today. At the other end, Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma are the toppers so far today with a gain of 0.9 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively.
Overall, the market breadth and most of the sectors trading negatively is a bearish sign. But there are supports ahead. Below is an analysis of Nifty futures.
Nifty 50 futures
The February expiry Nifty futures opened today’s session higher at 25,849 versus yesterday’s close of 25,828. It is now trading at 25,760, down nearly 0.3 per cent.
Although there are bearish signs, the chart shows that the contract has support at 25,750 and 25,600. Only a breach of the latter will give a strong impetus to the bears. Until then, the bulls might not give up easily.
A potential recovery, either from the current level or after a dip to 25,600, can lift the contract to 26,000 over a few sessions.
However, if the support at 25,600 is breached, Nifty futures can see an extended decline to 25,450. Support below 25,450 is at 25,150.
Overall, the fall so far today might only be a corrective move and so, traders can use the dips to go long.
