Nikola Jokic says he loves basketball and competing, and plans to keep playing at a high level as long as he stays healthy.
Denver Nuggets three-time MVP Nikola Jokic is focused on adding another NBA championship to his resume. Winning, for him, comes before anything else.

“I care a lot,” Jokic told ESPN’s Malika Andrews. “I think if you don’t care for winning, you’re not supposed to be in this sport. I think just my personality is maybe a little bit different, or I accept victories and success in different ways.
“But I care about basketball, I love to play, and I enjoy competing. I just accept success or defeat differently.”
The Serbian superstar expects to keep playing for years to come, speaking in response to a question about stars like LeBron James extending their careers into their forties.
“To be honest, I think I’m going to play basketball until I can play at a high level,” Jokic said. “Because I enjoy it, I love to play. So, I think I’m going to play until I can no longer perform on a high level and still be healthy.”
This season, Jokic is putting up a triple-double average of 28.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game.
