LVMH on Tuesday appointed Pietro Beccari, currently chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton, to also head LVMH Fashion Group. Beccari, who oversaw fast growth at Christian Dior, has held various roles in over a decade at LVMH. He remains at the helm Louis Vuitton.
At the fashion group, home to fashion brands, including Celine, Loewe and Givenchy, Beccari takes over from Sidney Toledano who is stepping down after working alongside LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault for 30 years.
Beccari is credited with turning around Fendi and in 2017 succeeded Toledano at Dior. Beccari adds the fashion group to his role on Jan. 1. He worked in marketing before joining LVMH in 2006 as executive vice president of marketing and communications for Louis Vuitton, becoming chairman and CEO of Fendi in 2012 before moving to Christian Dior Couture. Louis Vuitton deputy CEO Damien Bertrand, brought on to reinforce leadership at LVMH’s biggest label during the downturn, will also become a member of LVMH’s executive committee.
