It was the fashion establishment’s night, as a group of veteran designers took home major prizes at the CFDA Awards.
Ralph Lauren received the womenswear designer of the year award, adding to a collection that already includes all of the CFDA’s major awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 1991.
The Row’s Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen accepted the accessory designer of the year award; they last won in 2023. Thom Browne collected menswear designer of the year for the fourth time, denying Willy Chavarria, who won in 2023 and 2024, a three-peat.
Emerging designer of the year winner was Ashlynn Park, a veteran pattern maker for Yohji Yamamoto, Alexander Wang and others before founding her own brand, Ashlyn, in 2019.
The event was hosted by Teyana Taylor, with presenters including Naomi Watts, Ariana DeBose, Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Moore.
