Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), and Alphabet’s Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) are pulling back some operations in Dubai as rising tensions tied to the U.S.Iran conflict ripple across the Gulf, prompting office closures, remote work policies, and travel disruptions that have left some employees stranded.

Nvidia has temporarily closed its Dubai office, asking employees to work remotely while it reviews safety conditions across the region. The move is part of broader precautions the chipmaker is taking in the Middle East, including measures related to its large workforce in Israel.

Amazon has taken a similar step. The company told corporate employees across the Middle East to shift to remote work and follow local government guidance. Its logistics network, including warehouses and delivery operations, is still running where possible, but corporate activity has slowed.

The disruption has also hit cloud infrastructure. Amazon Web Services paused normal operations after 2 UAE data centers were hit by drone strikes, while another facility in Bahrain was affected by nearby blast damage, causing service interruptions across parts of the region.
