Shinola’s Newly Appointed President Will No Longer Assume the Role

Just days after Shinola announced that Victorinox executive Ulrich Wohn would become its new president, the company now says that’s no longer the case.

On Thursday, Shinola said due to a “highly urgent personal matter” Wohn will not be moving forward in the job. It had only announced Wohn’s appointment on Monday.

“Ulrich did not assume the role or officially begin work with Shinola. The company wishes him well, and we have no further updates at this time,” Shinola said in a statement.

Wohn, who has more than two decades of watch industry experience, previously served as president of North America at Victorinox, a manufacturer of watches and Swiss Army knives. Before that he was president and chief executive of North America at the LVMH-owned Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer.

Mark Light, whom Wohn was set to succeed and planned to return to Shinola-parent company Bedrock Manufacturing as chairman, will remain as interim president. He has held the position since last year and will continue to work closely with chief executive Steve Katzman.
