A spokesperson at Spectrum says customers in the Kansas City area are experiencing an outage due to two separate fiber cuts on its primary network. Spectrum says one of the cuts was caused by a criminal act of vandalism and another to a third party’s network that would normally provide backup for our network and allow services to remain functional. Teams are working to get customers back online as quickly as possible as network engineers work to identify rerouting solutions, says the spokesperson. Spectrum is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of the people(s) responsible for deliberate and ongoing damaging attacks to its fiber optic network infrastructure. Anyone with information regarding the cuts is asked to call to the tip line at 833-404-TIPS (8477).
