Sproutr (Solebury, Pennsylvania) has closed a seed funding round led by Altai Ventures, a Weston, Conn.-based venture capital firm focused on fintech and insurance innovation.
JoAnne Artesani, CEO, Sproutr.
Founded by insurance operators, Sproutr offers design and build services for property/casualty insurers, including managing general agents (MGAs), managing general underwriters (MGUs), program administrators, and carriers. The firm helps organizations bring products and programs to market quicker and more efficiently by navigating regulatory complexities and internal carrier processes.
Sproutr has launched more than 60 P&C products and programs since its founding two and a half years ago and currently supports over 35 customers.
Oleg Ilichev, Managing Partner, Altai Ventures.
“Within virtually every entity that sells insurance products lies a team that is often not spoken about—a department responsible for developing policy language, drafting endorsements, and defining the promises that insurers make to their policyholders,” comments Oleg Ilichev, managing partner, Altai Ventures. “Sproutr enhances these workflows by combining the best insurance product experts with modern technology.”
Sproutr provides end-to-end product development support, including market validation, underwriting guidelines, regulatory filings, and post-launch audits. Its clients include Accelerant, Blitz Insurance, Boost, District Cover, Everspan, MGT Insurance Company, and Sertis.
Mike McAuliffe, President, Accelerant Underwriting Managers.
“At Accelerant, we pride ourselves on helping our members move with agility and purpose,” says Mike McAuliffe, president, Accelerant Underwriting Managers. “Sproutr has been instrumental in delivering on this promise, sharing our member-centric worldview and helping them build products and programs that meet real market needs.”
Pragmatic, Cost-Effective Approaches
“Having built and managed programs at AIG, Hippo, Hanover, and Attune, I know firsthand how hard it is to bring new insurance products to market, even with access to key resources,” says JoAnne Artesani, CEO, Sproutr. “I founded Sproutr to help others overcome those obstacles using pragmatic, cost-effective approaches.”
