Stanley Cup Playoffs 2025: Stars vs. Avalanche score, live updates, highlights from Game 7 in Dallas

The Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche entered the NHL playoffs as two of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup. On Saturday night, they’ll meet in Game 7 with the winner moving on and the loser suffering an early postseason exit.

These two teams were evenly matched all season, so it’s only fitting that this series goes the distance. Dallas and Colorado have exchanged haymakers in this first-round matchup with both sides holding a lead at some point. Here’s a quick refresher about how we’ve gotten to this point:

  • Game 1: Avalanche 5, Stars 1
  • Game 2: Stars 4, Avalanche 3 (OT)
  • Game 3: Stars 2, Avalanche 1 (OT)
  • Game 4: Avalanche 4, Stars 0
  • Game 5: Stars 6, Avalanche 2
  • Game 6: Avalanche 7, Stars 4

This series is full of star power, and those players have not disappointed. Nathan MacKinnon has six goals and four assists for the Avalanche, and two of those goals have been of the game-winning variety. On the Dallas side of things, former Avalanche standout Mikko Rantanen has eight points while Roope Hintz leads the team with four goals.

If the first six games of this series are any indication, hockey fans are in for a little bit of everything in Game 7. From jaw-dropping offensive skill to stifling defense and elite goaltending, the Avalanche and Stars have put on a show. Now everyone gets to enjoy this clash of Cup contenders one more time.
