Indian solar PV module maker Waaree Energies’ wholly owned subsidiary, Sangam Solar One, has started operations at a 3GW manufacturing facility in Samakhiali in Kutch, Gujarat.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the plant began operating on 6 April 2026 and includes four manufacturing lines, each with an annual capacity of 750MW. The commissioning adds to capacity the company has already set up at the same site.

In November 2025, Sangam Solar One commissioned two solar module manufacturing lines of 750MW each at Samakhiali. With this, the initial capacity reached 1.5GW, Saur Energy reported.

Waaree Energies also commissioned two solar module manufacturing lines with a combined capacity of 2.1GW at its facility in Degam village in the Navsari district of Gujarat.

The company said that the plant operations commenced on 14 November 2025.

The latest expansion takes capacity additions across the two facilities to 3.6GW.

In a separate filing, Waaree Energies announced the receipt of a one-time order for the supply of solar modules with 500MW of capacity to a solar power developer, which is operating as an independent power producer. The company expects to execute the order in the 2026–27 fiscal year.

Founded in 1990 and based in Mumbai, Waaree Energies operates in more than 20 countries. Its business covers solar modules, engineering, procurement and construction, inverters, energy storage systems and green hydrogen.

In June 2025, Waaree Solar Americas, the US subsidiary of Waaree Energies, signed a 599MW solar module supply deal with an undisclosed independent power producer in the US.

The company secured 1.2GW in new orders in the US during the first quarter of 2025/26 due to increased demand from AI-driven data centre growth, infrastructure upgrades and industrial electrification.
