CoreWeave (CRWV) has just landed another major customer for its artificial intelligence infrastructure. The AI cloud provider announced a multiyear, multibillion-dollar agreement with Hudson River Trading, one of the world’s leading quantitative trading firms, to build a next-generation AI research platform on CoreWeave’s cloud.ย
The deal is important because HRT is an unusually demanding customer. Its trading models rely on massive computing power, speed, and low-latency infrastructure. HRT will use CoreWeave’s platform, including NVIDIA (NVDA) Vera Rubin NVL72 systems and Spectrum-X networking, for AI-driven trading research and model development.ย

That provides another strong validation of CoreWeave’s technology. But investors also have to consider CRWV’s volatility, elevated valuation, and enormous capital requirements.
CRWV Stock Is Still a Wild Ride
CRWV stock has been extremely volatile in 2026. The stock is down about 16% over three months despite recovering more than 47% from its July low of $60. Over the past year, CRWV is down roughly 4%, after reaching a 52-week high of $153.20 in October 2025.
The volatility shows a tug-of-war between explosive AI demand and concerns about how much CoreWeave must spend to capture it. Shares jumped more than 14% after the company’s latest earnings report, but the stock remains well below its 2025 high.
The Hudson River deal could help change that narrative because it adds another sophisticated customer and reinforces demand for CoreWeave’s increasingly scarce compute capacity.

Hudson River Deal Strengthens CoreWeave’s AI Position
The biggest takeaway from the HRT announcement is not simply the multibillion-dollar contract. It is the type of customer CoreWeave just won.
Quantitative trading firms demand extremely high-performance computing because even tiny improvements in speed and model performance can matter. By choosing CoreWeave for its next-generation research platform, HRT is effectively validating the company’s infrastructure for one of the most technically demanding AI workloads.ย
The timing is also notable. CoreWeave finished Q2 with a $104.2 billion revenue backlog, up from $99.4 billion in Q1, and added more than $25 billion in additional commitments early in Q3.ย
Management has said near-term capacity remains effectively sold out. That makes deals such as HRT particularly valuable because they can lock in demand for expensive AI infrastructure while improving visibility into future revenue.
Growth Comes With Huge Spending
CoreWeave’s second-quarter results show why investors remain excited.
Revenue surged 112% year-over-year (YoY) to $2.575 billion, exceeding the roughly $2.54 billion consensus estimate. Adjusted loss per share came in at $1.03, better than the expected $1.20 loss. Adjusted EBITDA reached $1.5 billion, representing a powerful 59% margin.ย
The company still reported a $626 million net loss, however, as infrastructure costs and interest expense rose sharply. Interest expense reached $640 million in Q2.ย
And CoreWeave is not slowing its spending. It raised its full-year 2026 capital expenditure forecast to $35 billion-$39 billion while lifting revenue guidance to $12.4 billion-$13.2 billion. Management expects year-end annualized revenue to reach $18.5 billion-$19.5 billion.ย
Beyond HRT, CoreWeave continues expanding its customer base and infrastructure footprint, serving major AI users while adding storage, networking, software, and inference capabilities to its platform.ย
Wall Street Remains Bullish on CRWV Stock
Importantly, Wall Street remains constructive.
According to Barchart, CRWV stock has a “Moderate Buy” consensus rating from 35 analysts with an average analyst price target of $140.30, implying roughly 58% upside from the current share price.ย
Recent target revisions have also been encouraging. Citigroup raised its target to $159, Truist lifted its target to $155, Wells Fargo increased its target to $160, and Baird raised its target to $130.ย
The Street is clearly betting that CoreWeave’s enormous backlog and surging AI demand will outweigh its heavy spending requirements. The Hudson River Trading deal adds another piece to that bullish argument.ย
For investors willing to tolerate extreme volatility, CRWV offers exposure to one of the fastest-growing corners of the AI infrastructure market, but its valuation and capital intensity make risk management essential.
