HCLTech has entered a multi-year strategic partnership with Volkswagen Group subsidiary e.solutions to support the development of next-generation software-defined infotainment and connectivity solutions for vehicles.

Under the deal, the Indian technology firm will work with Germany-based automotive software specialist on artificial intelligence-enabled infotainment and connectivity platforms built on android automotive.

The partnership is intended to address growing demand for connected and digital in-vehicle experiences.

As part of the agreement, HCLTech will deliver development, integration and validation services for production-grade human-machine interface software across several vehicle programmes.

HCLTech Mobility chief growth officer and global head Pankaj Tagra said: โ€œBy combining AI-driven engineering and a deep understanding of the automotive sector, we will empower e.solutions to accelerate and develop world-class infotainment platforms.

โ€œThe partnership underscores our long-term commitment to the automotive ecosystem and the ability to support complex engineering programmes at scale across international markets.โ€

The collaboration is also designed to support deployment across different hardware platforms and global markets.

e.solutions develops software for automotive infotainment and communication systems.

Its work includes designing software frameworks, applications and graphical user interfaces, and integrating them with modules from its global partner network.

The company also undertakes system software analysis and software integration for original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers working on software-defined vehicles and target vehicle platforms.

e.solutions CEO Uwe Reder added: โ€œOur partnership with HCLTech enables us to scale HMI software development across diverse vehicle programmes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and user experience.

โ€œTogether, we are building the foundation for the next generation of software-defined mobility.โ€

Earlier this year, Volkswagen and Qualcomm Technologies announced a letter of intent (LOI) for a long-term supply agreement to deliver advanced infotainment and connectivity capabilities powered by Qualcommโ€™s Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions.

Under this intended agreement, Qualcomm Technologies would serve as Volkswagen Groupโ€™s primary tech provider for the launch of its zonal SDV architecture โ€“ developed for the Western hemisphere through Volkswagen Groupโ€™s joint venture with Rivian Automotive.

This will provide high-performance system-on-chips (SoCs) for infotainment capabilities starting in 2027.

A current collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies already extends to the VW Groupโ€™s Automated Driving Alliance (ADA), formed by CARIAD and Bosch, to accelerate highly automated driving development.
